St. John's Wort has been used in the medical field as a medicinal plant for more than 2,400 years. It was used in ancient Greece, especially by Hippocrates. The ancient name “Fuga Daemonum” and the Latin name “Hypericum” testify to its usefulness in removing negative energies. St. John's Wort was usually hung over religious icons. In ancient times it was used as a talisman. Traditionally this plant is burned on Midsummer Day.
St. John's Wort protects the home from misfortunes, including the arrival of negative presences, the evil eye, disease and fire. Burning it as a smudge gives you strength, helps with depression, increases longevity and drives away evil spirits.
Size: 20-22cm. As they are handmade, size might vary few centimeters on each smudge. Color might also vary depend on how dry the herb is (compare main photo to video).
